The answer is one of the world’s oldest car manufacturer; Peugeot! The Peugeot car company we know today is vastly different from the Société des Automobiles Peugeot that was set up by Armand Peugeot in 1896. Armand’s interest in cars was sparked through an introduction with Gottlieb Daimler of Daimler-Benz. And, whilst the first petrol car to roll out of the ‘Peugeot’ production plant did not occur until after this meeting, it was actually a vehicle made by Panhard with an engine built under license from Daimler-Benz.
